Thumb reliefs allow you to comfortably hold the steering wheel at 9 and 3, with easy access to the paddle shifters in an automatic and the steering wheel controls. At 10 and 2, there are additional reliefs to improve grip. The scalloped foam at the top of the steering wheel adds grip for those that hold their steering wheel near the top.
